Hamirpur: In a resolute move to combat the surge in criminal activities, Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Kundu paid a visit to Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh, underscoring his commitment to maintain law and order in the district. During his visit, DGP Kundu engaged with the dedicated officers of the Baddi police force, conducting a comprehensive crime meeting to address the escalating crime rates.
DGP Kundu wasted no time in providing valuable feedback on several major incidents, emphasizing the urgency of resolving these matters promptly. Additionally, he inaugurated a state-of-the-art 24-hour Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) room in Nalagarh, demonstrating the commitment to enhancing public safety.
The DGP also conducted a thorough inspection of the Medical Device Park, where a recent unfortunate firing incident occurred. Expressing his concern, DGP Kundu urged for heightened vigilance and security measures in the area.
In a stern message, DGP Kundu expressed his dissatisfaction over the lack of substantial progress in combating the chitta menace, especially in the Baddi-Nalagarh border region. He highlighted that, regrettably, only 228 grams of chitta had been seized thus far this year, a figure falling short of expectations given the severity of the issue. The DGP urged Baddi Superintendent of Police, Mohit Chawla, to intensify efforts in combating drug addiction.
Addressing recent criminal activities, DGP Kundu assured that swift action was being taken in the case involving a hotel businessman in Baddi, who was arrested in connection with a multimillion-rupee ransom and firing incident. The accused are expected to be in police custody shortly.
Reflecting on the overall security scenario, DGP Kundu underscored the district’s sensitivity to criminal activities and emphasized the need for his periodic visits to Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh. He affirmed his unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
