Dharamshala’s Rushal Sud scores 96 percentile in JEE-Mains 2024

Rushal Sud of Dharamshala is among those from Himachal Pradesh who have cleared the JEE-Mains 2024 entrance test with flying colours, scoring 96 percentile marks.
Preparing for the prestigious engineering entrance test for the past two years, Rushal says the credit for his success went to the meticulous coaching provided by his teachers and the unflinching support of his parents.
Rushal had enrolled for coaching the JEE-Main 2024 test at the SCA (Science and Commerce Academy) in Dharamshala. “The material my coaching academy provided me with helped me crack the prestigious examination. The teachers were always there whenever I had any doubts. I followed the study pattern suggested to me by my teachers. All are very happy,” Rushal said.
Obtaining 96 percentile in JEE-Main examination is considered a good percentile for candidates, which opens up doors for getting admission to top engineering colleges in India like NIT-Trichy, BITS Pilani, IIIT-Hyderabad, NIT Calicut and other renowned institutions.
Shimla’s Amrit Himachal topper
Shimla resident Amrit Kaushal has clinched the top spot in the JEE-Mains 2024 among students from Himachal Pradesh, with the results of the engineering entrance exam having been declared late on Wednesday (April 24, 2024) evening. His parents, Dr Ankur Kaushal and Dr Sonia Kaushal, run a private clinic in Shimla.
Having completed his schooling at St Edward’s School for matriculation and JCB School for his 12th grade, Amrit aspires to pursue engineering at an IIT.
A total of 56 students have achieved a perfect 100 percentile in the JEE-Mains 2024. Among them, two girls stand out: Shayna Sinha from Delhi and Sanvi Jain from Karnataka. The notable achievers also include Aarav Bhatt and Shivansh Nair from Gurugram, Haryana; Aditya Kumar, Yashnel Rawat, Ishaan Gupta, Akshat Chaplot, and Himanshu from Rajasthan; Rachit Agarwal and Adeshveer Singh from Punjab; Vedant Saini from Chandigarh; Himanshu Yadav from Uttar Pradesh; and Madhav from Delhi. Tanya Jha, Ispit Mittal, Bhavesh Ramakrishnan Karthik and Arash Gupta are also in the ranks of those achieving a perfect 100 percentile.
Third gender topper from Bengal
In the third gender category, Bhumika Saha from West Bengal has achieved a percentile of 56.67. The National Testing Agency disclosed the JEE-Mains 2024 merit scores late on Wednesday evening, amalgamating the best performances from the January and April examinations. The January session witnessed 11,79,569 candidates while the April session saw 10,67,959 candidates participating.
The JEE-Mains 2024 was held in 13 Indian languages, including Hindi and English, across 571 examination centres spread across 391 cities in India and 22 cities abroad. With the release of the JEE-Mains 2024 merit list, students who secured the top 2.5 lakh scores are now eligible to appear in the JEE-Advanced examination for admission to IITs.
