Dharamshala: Congress national secretary and Dharamshala MLA Sudhir Sharma announced the construction of additional rooms for Captain Ram Singh Thakur Senior Secondary School in Khaniyara Khas.
He also announced on Tuesday that a new building would be constructed for Passu Pantehead’s Government Senior School.
Captain Ram Singh Thakur, through his inspiring song, has left an indelible mark, and the school in his name stands as a testament to his legacy. Khaniyara school has also excelled in cleanliness, marking it as a model institution, it was highlighted at the festival.
Sharma urged everyone to maintain this momentum of progress. He emphasised the importance of students actively participating in both academics and sports. Sharma encouraged the responsible use of mobile phones among students.
The Passu School’s new building will be constructed in collaboration with the panchayat, and the construction is set to commence soon.
Sharma also highlighted the initiation of channelisation for Manji Khad, scheduled to begin on July 12, 2024, with a budget of Rs 10 crores. This project aims to attract visitors by creating a vibrant atmosphere along the banks, complete with gazebos, cycling tracks, and benches.
To recognise and encourage the talented students, Sharma awarded Rs 21,000 each to participants in various colourful programmes held in both schools. Sharma addressed concerns brought forth by those who attended the programmes, resolving many on the spot and directing others to the departmental authorities concerned.
