Dharamshala: The electoral officer of Dharamshala held a comprehensive meeting with all booth-level officials under the Dharamshala constituency’s jurisdiction. It was unanimously agreed upon that voters aged 85 and above, as well as those classified as disabled, would have the option to cast their votes from the comfort of their homes in the upcoming elections.
During the meeting chaired by electoral officer Sanjeev Kumar Bhot it was emphasized that the welfare of elderly and disabled voters is paramount. Instructions were issued to all booth-level officials to diligently collect the necessary documentation, specifically the 12-D forms, from eligible voters falling under these categories. This proactive measure aims to streamline the voting process for these individuals and ensure their voices are heard in a timely manner.
Furthermore, stringent directives were issued to all booth level officers (BLOs) to leave no stone unturned in facilitating the participation of elderly and disabled voters. Election observers, notably Arpit Dhiman, were present to monitor the proceedings, underscoring the significance of this initiative in fostering an inclusive democratic process.
