Will work together in agri, water research and development

CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University, Palampur, and IIT Ropar on Tuesday signed an MoU to work jointly in the agriculture and water tech field.
Agriculture University vice-chancellor Prof H K Chaudhary said that the two institutions would cooperate with each other in the field of entomology, animal husbandry management, cold chain management system, and the Internet of things, among other things.
He said that the agri varsity and IIT would also work jointly in the field of drone tech, research programmes, and educational programmes.
IIT, Ropar, director Dr Rajiv Ahuja expressed the hope that both institutions would ensure total coordination because quality research is important for all such institutions. While talking about Artificial Intelligence and drone technology, he said that IIT Ropar is helping students in their start-ups related to these fields.
Agriculture University registrar Dr Madhu Chaudhary and research director Dr S P Dixit signed on behalf of the varsity and Dr Ahuja and project director Dr Pushpendra P Singh signed the MoU on behalf of IIT Ropar. Among others, Dr Atharva Pondrika and Reet Kamal from IIT Ropar were present on the occasion.
