Couple from Kinnaur among 3 killed as car falls into Sutlej in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla

DHARAMSHALA: Three people were killed and two injured as the car they were travelling in fell into the Sutlej river near Kumarsain in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh.
The deceased have been identified as Jitesh, his wife Vanshika, residents of Kinnaur; and Abhay Kumar, a resident of Reckongpeo in Kinnaur.
The injured have been identified as Anshul Fanyan, a resident of Kinnaur; and Rahul Krishan, a resident of Kalpa in Kinnaur.
The police said the accident took place on Thursday around 5.30 pm on the Sunni-Luhri road when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into a deep gorge. The police reached the spot after being informed by the locals about the mishap.
The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital at Kumarsain where three of them were declared brought dead. The two injured were referred to Mahatma Gandhi Medical Services Complex at Khaneri in Rampur Bushahr.
