Controversy erupts at IIT-Mandi over termination of woman’s services by a company engaged by premier institute

MANDI: A young woman who was serving in IIT-Mandi’s ‘iHub company and HCL foundation’ has been running from pillar to post for reinstatement of her services, terminated by the employer company without citing any reason.
The woman has filed a complaint before the Board of Directors (BOD) but even then her problem remains unresolved.
Talking to TNR, the woman said she had sent a mail to BOD on September 18 but as of today she hasn’t received any response from. “I sent another reminder mail on October 20 but eleven days have passed and there has been no reply from that side,” she shared.
The woman said even the project director had written to the BOD for swift hearing of the matter, but BOD has maintained a silence.
The BOD’s silence sends a message of confusion within the working community as it was the BOD that had previously opposed her inappropriate demotion by the company and ordered to promote her as per norms applicable to all employees.
IT Mandi and HCAI Foundation had assigned a female employee on contract. However, during her job she was demoted by the company managers against rules. Later, the BOD labelled the demotion as incorrect and promoted her again.
During the renewal of her annual contract, her service contract was not renewed, virtually terminating her from her services. It had been alleged by the company officials that the female employee’s performance and behaviour with the company officials were not up to the mark.
