Congress’s Jaggi Struggles in political Campaign, BJP’s Sudhir Gains Momentum

Dharamshala: The campaign trail in Kangra reflects a challenging picture for Congress leader Devender Jaggi, with BJP’s Sudhir Sharma gaining ground in the electoral race. The delay in the party’s ticket declaration has posed obstacles for Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s political strategy, making it difficult to counter the BJP surge. Despite a historical Congress presence in the region, campaign style may hinder their chances of victory in the upcoming elections.

In the era of digital influence, Jaggi’s limited presence on social media platforms is apparent, contrasting sharply with Sudhir Sharma’s proactive approach. The choice of content and visibility on public platforms remains a notable issue for the Congress candidate.

While Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has endorsed Jaggi as an honest and dedicated party worker, this alone may not sway the competitive political landscape. The BJP’s reinforcement with the presence of senior leader Anurag Thakur alongside Sudhir Sharma further amplifies the campaign momentum.

BJP has conducted approximately 80 meetings for the assembly elections in Dharamshala, encompassing public gatherings and engagements with various demographic segments, including youth and women. Special emphasis has been placed on social media campaigning. In contrast, Congress continues to grapple with internal coordination.

The outcome of the Dharamshala seat, prestigious due to its association with the sitting Chief Minister, will be a testament to Jaggi’s efforts. However, any potential loss would reflect on those leaders claiming close association with the party and Chief Minister Sukhu.
