Congress seeks judicial inquiry into Dalit’s death

Members and leaders of the block Congress committee, Dharamshala, sent a memorandum to Himachal Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Wednesday, demanding a judicial enquiry into the death of Parasram, a dalit from Kullu district after an attack on him and his wife in Kullu. The memorandum was sent to the Governor through additional deputy commissioner Rahul Kumar, DC office Dharamshala. 


Judicial inquiry demanded

Dharamshala, block Congress committee president Vineet Dhiman said that the incident happened in Kullu where a group of 4-5, including a BJP worker, attacked Parasram and his wife in public.

Parasram, who suffered serious injuries in the attack, died at the PGI Chandigarh while his wife is still under treatment following serious injuries.

The incident has exposed the poor law and order situation in the state. The Congress has urged the Governor to conduct a quick judicial inquiry into the matter and take strict action against the culprits.

Zilla parishad members Nisha Chaudhary, Shabnam Sood, Sunil Rana, Manish Guleria, Indu Devi Pradhan of Rakkad panchayat, Rajiv Sharma, deputy president of Rakkad panchayat and Congress worker Kapil along with other party workers were present.
