Dharamshala: Devendra Jaggi, the General Secretary of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee, alleged that the former MLA, who had been honored by the Congress and Dharamshala since 2012, has disrespected both the party and the people of Dharamshala.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Jaggi claimed that during a welcome rally at Jorawar Maidan on Thursday, women were lured to attend but did not succumb to the persuasion.
The former MLA has turned his back on the Congress and the public during by-elections and Lok Sabha elections, according to Jaggi. He stated that the former MLA did not spare time to meet the common people of Dharamshala. Jaggi mentioned that as Congress workers are now meeting the general public, many old issues are resurfacing.
He cited the memory of the lathi charge, which was carried out against a particular community, as still fresh in people’s minds. Jaggi expressed his sympathy towards the BJP, suggesting that what has happened with Congress leaders and workers is now happening with BJP supporters. Regarding the allocation of Congress tickets, Jaggi stated that the High Command would distribute tickets by April 7th.
