Shimla: Lok Sabha Election preparations were discussed in a Congress meeting held in Delhi on Wednesday. In this meeting, the High Command directed the government to accommodate party workers in the government.
It was also mandated that a single leader should hold a single position in either the government or the organization. Furthermore, the meeting decided that Congress’s female members should be guaranteed government jobs, and the directive was given for the government to ensure their employment.
The National President of Congress, Mallikarjun Kharge, chaired the meeting in Delhi, where leaders discussed their suggestions on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Cooperation between the Congress and the government was emphasized during the meeting. It is reported that the issue of giving space to organization members in the government was raised prominently. The High Command instructed to prioritize party members in the government to maintain the enthusiasm of workers for the upcoming elections. Consequently, the government was directed to make appointments in various committees, boards, and corporations.
Moreover, the meeting decided that a leader should hold a single position either in the government or the organization. This decision implies that leaders holding positions in the government will have to resign from their roles in the organization.
The meeting also discussed Congress’s guarantees, stating that women should be assured of Rs 1500 as a guarantee before the elections. This guarantee could be implemented in phases across the entire state. Additionally, the process of selecting potential candidates for the Lok Sabha elections was initiated during this meeting to allow them time for election campaigning. State Congress leaders also decided to raise issues of negligence in Himachal Pradesh during emergencies in the Lok Sabha elections. After this meeting, the Pradesh Congress has entered election mode in the state.
Those present at the meeting included Rahul Gandhi, K.C. Venugopal, Rajeev Shukla, along with Pradesh leaders Pratibha Singh, CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy CM, ministers, and CPS, comprising a total of 35 leaders from Himachal Pradesh.
