Congress party in the state has decided to take on assembly deputy Speaker Hansraj, who is BJP MLA from Churah in Chamba district, over his alleged objectionable statements on former CM late Virbhadra Singh.
Congress demands action
Congress state president Kuldip Rathore, leader of the Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri, state party spokesman Kuldip Pathania and MLA Asha Kumari, while highlighting a video that has gone viral on social media in which Hansraj purportedly said something objectionable in the local dialect, have criticised the deputy Speaker.
In Teesa members of Congress Seva Dal have submitted a memorandum to the sub-divisional magistrate there seeking the Governor’s action against Hansraj.

Congress MLA Vikramaditya Singh, son of late Virbhadra Singh, wrote on his Facebook wall that there is a lack of culture in MLA Hansraj’s home. “Our condolence to him”.
Hansraj says he did not utter anything objectionable
The deputy Speaker, being targeted by Congress, said on his Facebook page that in the local Churahi dialect one does not use honorable or respectable before anyone’s name. Regarding his statement that after Virbhadra passed away a conflict has emerged within Congress, Hansraj said that this was not being disrespectful to Virbhadra Singh, who he has found honorable always.
