CM to visit Delhi again

Shimla | TNR

Chief Minister Jairam Thakur will leave for New Delhi once again. Thakur had returned to Himachal from the Capital on Sunday after meetings with the President and other ministers.

The Chief Minister is expected to have meetings with some ministries. It has also been assumed that Thakur will discuss the by-elections to the four seats in the state with the party.

Apart from the Mandi parliamentary constituency, by-elections will also be held in Jubbal Kotkhai, Arki and Fatehpur assembly constituencies.

The ruling BJP is expected to push for by-elections in those states where the pandemic situation is said to be in control.

Earlier, the Central Election Commission had sought the opinion of chief secretaries regarding the holding of by-elections in states where it was to be held on September 1.

Following their opinion, the election commission had decided to defer the elections until after the festival season. However, currently, the prospects of holding by-elections look bright.
