With an eye on the upcoming by-elections, Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has made major announcements. Addressing a public meeting in Gaunta, in Sarkaghat assembly constituency of Mandi district on Thursday, the Chief Minister announced the opening of a Polytechnic College in sub-tehsil Bhadra as well as the upgradation of primary health centre in Jamni to a community health centre. He also announced the opening of a joint-office building at Dohpi in sub-tehsil Bhadra and the construction of a helipad at Gaunta.
First does of vaccine by Aug 31 for everyone
Thakur said that the government had set a target of vaccinating the entire population of the state with the first dose of the Covid vaccine by August 31. He thus urged people to come forward and take the shot to protect themselves from the virus.
Developmental projects inaugurated
Earlier the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of developmental projects worth Rs 40 crores at Gaunta in Sarkaghat assembly constituency of Mandi district. The Chief Minister also inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various development projects at Baldwara in Sarkaghat assembly at a cost of about Rs 100 crores.
Lift water supply scheme for villages
He also announced a lift water supply scheme for a group of villages comprising Ropri Chowk, Pardha, Hawani, and Jajhail at a cost of Rs 26.46 crores. Apart from this inaugurated the Bhagi Khudi Khahan Chanoli road, constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, at a cost of Rs 1.98 crores. He participated in the initial metalling and tarring work of the Dabrewal Jamanwal Ban Mangoh road to be constructed at a cost of Rs 6.33 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and the ground-breaking ceremony of the Mahila Mandal Bhavan Kas Dumaihar Paniyali Takared road to be constructed by NABARD at a cost of Rs 4.58 crores.
