A meeting was organised on Friday in the Deputy Commissioner’s office with the coordinators of various sub-committees regarding the successful organisation of Minjar Mela-2023 under the chairmanship of DC Apoorva Devgun.
The Deputy Commissioner asked all the sub-committee convenors to ensure the various arrangements in a time-bound manner.
During the discussion on various activities to be organised under the theme of Minjar Mela-2023, Clean Chamba-Green Chamba, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Deputy Director and Project Officer, Rural Development Agency and Executive Officer, Municipal Council to prepare an action plan.
He also directed that banned single use plastic items should not be sold at any stall during the fair.
It was also decided in the meeting that for effective monitoring on the sale of banned single use plastic items, local officials of Pollution Control Board, Municipal Council and officials of Chamba sub-divisional administration will ensure action.
A detailed discussion was also held in the meeting regarding the organization of sports competitions.
Along with organising karate and marathon race competition in sports activities, it was also decided to organize a quiz competition based on the theme topic Clean Chamba-Green Chamba.
In order to ensure better law and order during the fair, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav informed in the meeting that appropriate number of police and home guard personnel would be deployed along with installation of CCTVs in Chamba Chaugan. Along with this, a temporary police control room will also be set up during the fair in Chamba Chaugan.
In the meeting, the Health Department was asked to organize various activities under the Food Safety, Tobacco Free Campaign and make arrangements for general health check-up in Chamba Chaugan.
In the meeting, detailed discussion was held on various subjects including Minjar distribution and Shobha Yatra sub-committee, accommodation sub-committee, cultural program sub-committee, lighting and decoration.Additional District Magistrate Amit Mehra conducted the proceedings in the meeting.
