In view of the latest Covid situation in Himachal, the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has decided to start classes for children of class VIII from October 11.
Notification issued A notification issued by Chief Secretary of the state and Chairman of SDMA, Ram Subhag Singh on Friday stated that children of class VIII will also be asked to go to school on all working days from October 11.
At present students of class IX to XII have been attending school. As of now, students of class X and XII attend school on the first three days of the week and students of class IX and XI attend on the last three days. The decision to reopen schools for class VIII was taken after the SDMA declared a drop in Covid cases in the state. An SOP regarding this will soon be issued by the Education Department.
