CITU’s Himachal unit plans campaign against Modi government’s policies

Shimla: The state committee of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), chaired by Pradesh president Vijendra Mehra, convened a meeting in Shimla.
The attendees included CITU national secretary N Umesh, Vijendra Mehra, Prem Gautam, Jagat Ram, Ajay Dulta, Kuldeep Dogra, Sudesh, Joginder, Bhupendra, Rajesh, Ramakant Mishra, Ashish, Mohit, Narendra, Gurnam, Vijay, Hemi, Bhup Singh, Balak Ram, Ram Prakash, Anil, Gurdas, Daljit Singh, Ganpat, and Indra Singh.
Decisions were made to mobilize against the Modi government’s anti-worker, anti-farmer, anti-employee, and anti-people policies in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections under the slogan “Defeat BJP, save the nation.”
The committee pledged to appeal to workers and the public to vote against BJP, advocating for minimum wages of Rs 26,000, cancellation of anti-labour laws, minimum support price for farmers, and implementation of the Swaminathan Commission recommendations.
In subsequent phases, district and block-level worker conventions will be held, followed by public meetings. A door-to-door campaign will be conducted against the BJP and Narendra Modi’s anti-worker policies. The committee also intends to issue thousands of pamphlets highlighting the adverse effects of the Modi government’s neoliberal and pro-capitalist policies on unemployment, poverty, inequality, and livelihood.
