Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Himachal Pradesh, C Paul Rasu, has constituted a screening committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary.
The committee will examine important issues that need to be taken up for approval by the Central Election Commission.
The committee has been constituted on the instructions of the Central Election Commission.
Currently, new tenders, transfers, promotions, new recruitments and extension of services have been banned after the election code of conduct came into force in the state.
This also makes it imperative to seek the permission of the Central Election Commission to do any such work.
The CEC has directed that non-essential proposals should not be sent for approval as it increases the work load of the commission.
