3 test positive at President’s retreat

There has been a slight change in President Ram Nath Kovind’s upcoming visit to the state, after three employees of the Rashtrapati Bhavan retreat at Chharabra, tested positive for Covid-19.
President’s stay at Cecil Hotel now
The President will now stay at the Cecil Hotel in Chaura Maidan. The President’s stay in Shimla has been cut short to four days, while his earlier schedule was a five-day stay. He will return to New Delhi on September 19.
President to address special session of Assembly here
On September 17, the President will address a special session of the Himachal Assembly to mark the golden jubilee year of the state attaining full statehood.
All employees connected with the special session of the Legislative assembly are now being tested before the President’s address.
The tests began on Monday and will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday too. Tight police security has been deployed across Shimla in view of the President’s visit.
