Chamba : On Monday evening, a lively procession departed from Chamba to Manimahesh, led by the Chaddi of Chatpat Nath, with a large number of people in attendance. This procession departs from the Chatpat Nath Temple in the Chatpat neighborhood of Chamba city every year with great fervor for the pilgrimage to Manimahesh.
This chaddi procession has been a tradition for years, and it is believed to be associated with the sage Rishi Charpat. The Chatpat Chaddi Yatra started from Chamba for its first stage and received worship and reverence from people at various points along its route. Himachal Pradesh is considered the land of divine deities, with several such traditions deeply rooted in our faith.
The Manimahesh Yatra and Chaddi Yatra are also part of this rich tradition. Notably, on Saturday, the Manimahesh Yatra embarked on a grand journey from Chamba’s Dashnam Junaa Akhada, led by sadhus and saints, and on Monday, the Chaddi of Rishi Charpat Nath departed for Manimahesh.
