Dharamshala: Starting next month, passengers traveling on government buses operated by the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) in Dharamshala will have the option for cashless payment for their tickets.
Passengers can now pay their fare by scanning a QR code or swiping their ATM cards, eliminating the need to carry cash. This initiative aims to provide convenience to travelers and reduce the hassle for conductors in handling cash transactions.
Upon informing the conductor of their destination, passengers will see a QR code displayed on the machine, enabling them to make online payments. Additionally, they can also swipe their ATM cards. The process for cash payments will remain unchanged.
Currently, data for all stations at HRTC bus depots is being fed online, ensuring a smooth transition to the new cashless system.
