Cabinet sub-committee to resolve issues related to compensation for land acquisition for four-lane roads

The state Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, approved the formation of a cabinet sub-committee under the chairmanship of  Hydel Power minister Mahendra Singh Thakur to resolve issues related to compensation for land acquisition for the four-lane road construction project.

Education minister Govind Singh Thakur and Forest minister, Rakesh Singh Pathania will also be part of this sub-committee, which will also study related policies in neighbouring states.

A previous committee headed by Minister Govind Singh Thakur had failed to submit a report to the Jairam government even three years after it came into power.

Though the BJP in its election manifesto had promised the people affected a compensation four times the value, this was never achieved.

Benefits to be given to children of registered workers

The Cabinet gave its approval for amendment and inclusion of benefits for children of workers in the Himachal Pradesh  Building and Construction Workers Regulation (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Service) Rules,2008.

As per this amendment, instead of Rs 8000 for daughters of registered workers, studying in class 1 to 8, and Rs 5000 for sons, Rs 8400 will be given to both girls and boys every year. Girls studying in class 9 to 11 will be given Rs 11000 per annum and Rs 12000 for boys instead of Rs 8000 per annum.

Rs 16000 per annum will be given for girls doing graduation and Rs 36000 per annum will be given to boys instead of Rs 12000, Rs 21000 for girls doing post-graduation and  Rs 60000 for boys instead of Rs 17000.

Girls pursuing professional courses and degrees will be given Rs 60000 instead of Rs 36000 and Rs 27000 for boys, Rs 36000 for girls doing PhD research and Rs 1.20 lakh for boys instead of Rs 27000.

Decision to open FDR worth Rs 51000 on the birth of a girl child

The Cabinet has decided to launch the new Girl Child Birth Gift Scheme under which a fixed deposit of Rs51,000 will be made on the birth of a girl child, and will be payable on the birth of a maximum of two girl children.

Similarly, under the Child Welfare Scheme for specially-abled and mentally retarded children, Rs 20,000 per annum will be given to children with 50 per cent or more disabilities.

The cabinet also decided to start a pension of Rs 1500 per month for the widows of registered beneficiaries.

The cabinet also decided to start a Hostel facilitation scheme under which children(students) of registered building and construction workers would be provided food and hostel facilities.

Under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, Rs 1 .50 lakh will be provided to registered beneficiaries to build their house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas  Yojana or Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana.

Rs 60 crore approved for renewal of no default guarantee

The Cabinet gave its approval to increase the credit to Rs 60 crore for renewal of no default guarantee of the state government in favour of the Himachal Road Transport Corporation for the financial year 2021-22. 

Approval to fill posts in newly formed municipal corporation

The Cabinet also gave its approval for the creation and filling up of 15 posts of different categories in the newly formed municipal corporations of Solan, Mandi, and Palampur.

It was decided to fill up two posts of Junior Engineers, two posts of sanitary supervisors, one of Junior Draftsman, three posts of Data Entry operators in place of PA and four posts of JOA (IT) in each newly formed municipal corporation.

These posts will be outsourced until they are filled on a permanent basis
