The police have arrested the driver of a truck that killed 3 bike borne policemen of the Una Batallion who were on Covid duty, at Asha Devi, near Gagret toll tax barrier.
Truck seized from Nadaun The police arrested the truck driver and seized his truck from Nadaun after scanning CCTV footages at the toll gate.
The accused driver Amarjeet is a resident of Nadaun. District Superintendent of Police Arjit Sen Thakur said that a bike had been recovered from the spot of the accident.
The three army men were constable Manoj (23), son of Suresh Kumar resident of Pidar Village, Bhoranj Tehsil, Vishal (22), son of Vikram, resident of Jhandvi in Bhoranj Tehsil, and constable Shubham (24) son of Suresh of Badsar village.
Blood stains found on tyres on seized truck
The FSL team visited the site of the accident and collected evidence. Blood stains have been found on the tyres of the truck seized from Nadaun.
A broken indicator of the truck was also found from the spot. The accused is being questioned by the police and a case of culpable homicide has been registered under sections 279, 304A and MV Act.
