Dharamshala: A long-awaited cabinet expansion in Himachal Pradesh may materialise at any moment. It may take place today as move has started for the same. Two cabinet ministers poised to take their oaths this evening, said sources.
It is said that Himachal Pradesh Governor is scheduled to arrive in Shimla today via helicopter to oversee the ceremony, marking the culmination of anticipation that has lingered for several days.
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has subtly hinted at the impending expansion, suggesting it might unfold before the onset of the winter session.
The groundwork for the cabinet expansion is already in motion, with reliable sources informing TNR that, if all goes as planned, the oath-taking ceremony is slated for today.
Specific officials have been entrusted with duties to ensure the necessary arrangements are in place.
Recent developments suggest that Congress leader Yadvinder Singh Goma, hailing from Kangra district, might be one of the ministers to take the oath. Goma’s recent visit to Delhi sparked speculations about a potential cabinet berth. Another likely candidate is Rajesh Dharmani, a Congress leader from Bilaspur.
Both leaders strategically positioned themselves at key seats during a Congress rally held on Monday, with Goma seated right behind the Chief Minister, and Dharmani in the front row among the existing cabinet ministers.
It was said that Congress party in power had to appoint three ministers but two are taking oath. The government is yet to appoint the deputy speaker and chairman and vice-chairman for different boards and corporations.
