Boh Valley tragedy: Infant is never going to see his father

An infant, born five days before his home, in Rulehad village in Boh Valley of Shahpur sub-division, was buried under debris on Tuesday following a cloud burst and landslide, would never see his father and grandfather.


Shiv Prasad and his father became victims of the landslide even as his wife and mother were in Tanda medical college, where his son was born. The widows have no consolation.

Eight bodies found


So far eight bodies have been dug out from the debris of several houses that were buried in the landslide. The bodies of Masto Devi, 40, Shakuntala Devi, 60, Mamta, 21, Kartik, 16, Shiv Prasad, 30, Kanchana Devi, 45, Bhimsen, 45, and Shabnam, 16, have been found. Subhash Chandra, 65, and Neeraj, 18, are missing but feared dead.


On Wednesday the bodies of Mamta’s father Bhim Singh was found even as the last rites of Mamta and Kartik were performed the same day.

Injured under treatment


A few residents of the village including Aarti, Sonfo Devi, Vijay, Tamanna, Rachna and Avantika are under treatment at a hospital.
