Dharamshala: Bodies of a young couple, believed to be paragliding enthusiasts and who went missing since Monday at the renowned Billing Valley, have been found.
The bodies, showing signs of injury and hypothermia, were discovered late Tuesday by a rescue team, three kilometers downhill from the paragliding take-off point.
The police suspect a fatal slip on the icy terrain and initiated an investigation into the case. Identified as Anil Gupta (30) from Shivanagar, Pathankot, and Pranita Wala (26) from Sahib, Maharashtra, the deceased’s postmortems have been conducted, with further details awaited.
Expressing concern over the incident, ASP Veer Bahadur urged tourists visiting Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district, especially those venturing for trekking or paragliding, to be accompanied by local guides for safety reasons, given the heavy snowfall in the area.
