The Himachal government has decided that annual examinations of classes 3, 5 and 7 will now be conducted by the Board of school education.
This announcement was made by education minister Govind Singh Thakur on the second day of the workshop on the National Education Policy 2020 education, assessment and evaluation scheme held in the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board auditorium, Dharamshala.
Minister highlights salient points
The minister said that the National Education Policy is being revamped to strengthen core provisions in the policy.
For the infrastructural development of education, the government has started strengthening the teacher learning and result for student and state projects from Dharamshala.
Under the Star Project, brainstorming sessions will be held with stakeholders in all 12 districts vis-a-vis the new education policy.
An action plan will be prepared on the basis of this session. The action plan will then be discussed with the government and the World Bank for its proper implementation.
The education minister added that discussions have also been held regarding the interconnectivity of communities, village panchayats, Mahila mandals and Yuvak mandals with schools.
