A blood donation camp was organized at Abhilashi University, Chailchowk by the Red Ribbon Club of Abhilashi Ayurvedic College and University, in collaboration with Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College, Nerchowk. Professors, staff members, and students of the university actively participated in this blood donation camp. The event was inaugurated by the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor H. S. Banyal. In his address, he stated that donating blood for the welfare of humanity is one of the greatest acts of virtue. He mentioned that donating one unit of blood can save three lives and that blood donation does not cause any weakness in the body. He also emphasized that individuals should fulfill their social responsibilities by donating blood to save lives during emergencies.
Blood donation helps maintain good health and can reduce the risk of heart diseases and strokes. Excess iron in the blood can increase the risk of heart attacks, and regular blood donation helps regulate the amount of iron in the body, which is beneficial for health. He pointed out that sometimes a person in need might have such low blood levels that immediate blood transfusion is necessary. In such situations, people should come forward to fulfill their social and moral responsibilities by donating blood.
During the blood donation camp, doctors from Abhilashi Ayurvedic College and Hospital, along with a team led by Dr. Priyanka from Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College, Nerchowk, played a crucial role. Seventy students and staff members from the university donated blood at the camp.
