Dharamshala/Fatehpur: BJP National President JP Nadda addressed a rally in the Kangra parliamentary constituency on Saturday, emphasizing national issues hinting the state leadership those have limited the Lok Sabha election campaign to local matters only. He hinted to include national issues also and achievement of Modi government.
Nadda addressed a massive crowd of BJP supporters and workers at Fatehpur, saying, “You are not voting for Rajeev Bhardwaj, but through him, you are contributing to ‘Viksit Bharat’ by giving a strong government to the country.”
Nadda’s speech focused on national issues, starting with the corruption during the UPA regime a decade ago, and highlighted the achievements under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. This rally marked the first appearance of a BJP national leader for the parliamentary elections.
Sources revealed that Nadda had previously expressed his dissatisfaction with the state leadership’s approach, which had primarily addressed local issues. The party’s state leaders were instructed to shift their focus to national achievements and the broader vision for India’s development under Modi’s leadership.
The campaign so far had been dominated by personal attacks between Congress’s Vikramaditya Singh and BJP’s Kangana Ranaut, as well as verbal clashes between BJP leader Jairam Thakur and Congress CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. However, the BJP high command has taken a serious note of these developments and urged a shift towards national issues.
