BJP Media Managers Lead Charge, Congress Muted in Kangra Media Arena

Dharamshala: In the political capital of Himachal Pradesh, the media battleground between BJP and ruling Congress has intensified, with BJP’s media managers taking a proactive approach in shaping the narrative.

Over the last three months, the BJP’s media team in Kangra has issued over 50 press statements, covering a range of topics, from the Ram Mandir issue to the significant protests at the Central University of Himachal Pradesh. These statements seem to set the stage for the upcoming general elections in the state.

Chakshu Puri, an active media manager for BJP, mentioned, “The number of press notes issued from my end is nearly 100.” He credits former Chief Minister Jairam Thakur for giving him the opportunity to connect with media personnel in the Kangra region.

When BJP announced protests regarding the Central University, no Congress spokespersons or media managers stepped forward to react to the saffron party’s moves leading up to the general elections.

Despite multiple attempts by TNR reporters to connect with Congress leaders in the region for their stance on the Central University issue, none expressed a willingness to address the matter and unveil the political strategies of the BJP.

Dr. Rajesh Sharma, a Congress leader from Kangra, took the initiative to face the cameras and openly discuss the issues at hand. BJP leader Shanta Kumar has consistently voiced concerns about the potential weakening of democracy in the country due to political imbalances.

Dharamshala stands as the second prominent media hub after the state capital, Shimla. While local Congress MLA Sudhir Sharma is taking a different approach, other party leaders have maintained a noticeable silence, refraining from open interactions with the media for an extended period.
