Dharamshala: Bhavani Singh Pathania, the Deputy Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Planning Board and MLA from Fatehpur, likened the BJP’s manifesto to a packet of chips, all puffed up from the outside but disappointing when opened.
Pathania made these remarks during a press conference in Dharamshala on Monday, where he criticized the BJP’s manifesto as being deceptive.
According to Pathania, the BJP’s manifesto lacks substance, focusing on recycled schemes without addressing crucial issues like inflation and unemployment. He emphasized the importance of a manifesto as a party’s identity and vision for the future, accusing the BJP of failing to prioritize the concerns of women and farmers.
In a scathing assessment, Pathania stated that the BJP’s promises have often resulted in cuts to employment opportunities, citing the Agnivir scheme as a prime example. He predicted that the BJP’s exaggerated claims of winning over 400 seats would fall short, with the party likely to secure fewer than 180 seats in the upcoming elections.
Pathania also criticized BJP leaders for advocating for voting in favor of external candidates in the Rajya Sabha elections, questioning why there was no opposition when the name of Abhishek Manu Singhvi was proposed. He emphasized the need for voters to listen to their conscience and challenged the integrity of BJP leaders advocating for external candidates over their own party members.
