BJP Leaders Stage Protest at DC Office Against Solar Lights Disconnection on Himani Chamunda Trek

BJP leaders protested outside the DC office on Monday against the Forest Department’s decision to disconnect solar lights on Himani Chamunda Road. Despite initial plans to demonstrate at the CCF office, BJP leaders, including district officials, gathered outside the DC office, handing over a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the DC.
In a virtual meeting on Sunday, BJP leaders had discussed opposition protests scheduled for Monday, with senior leaders from the district participating. Following the meeting, a press release was issued stating that the BJP would stage a protest at CCF(Chief conservator forest ) office to press for their demands However, on Monday, BJP leaders deviated from their plan and demonstrated outside the DC office.
Sachin Sharma, BJP district president, stated that a memorandum regarding the Himani Chamunda temple road solar lights issue would be submitted to the DC. He warned that if the lights were not restored within a day, the party would devise its next strategy. During the demonstration, the BJP raised slogans against the state government, district administration, and the Forest Department.
Rakesh Chaudhary, a BJP candidate from Dharamshala, revealed that a decision was made in the previous meeting to surround the CCF office, but on Monday morning, they were instructed to stage a demonstration outside the DC office. Chaudhary emphasized that if the lights were not reinstated within a day, they would intensify their agitation.
