Dharamshala: Congress turncoat and current BJP candidate for Dharamshala Assembly by-elections, Sudhir Sharma, has leveled accusations against the Himachal Pradesh government, claiming that it’s attempting to deceive women by reintroducing a Rs 1500 form scheme.
According to Sharma, women who previously filled out forms didn’t receive payment even after a 14-month wait, raising concerns about the sincerity of the government’s intentions. He further criticized the government for initially selecting regions with the fewest eligible women for the scheme and later relocating it to Lahaul under public pressure.
In contrast, the BJP’s manifesto promises a robust plan for women’s empowerment, aiming to market products of self-help groups nationally. This initiative seeks to economically empower women across the country. Sharma emphasized that this commitment is part of Prime Minister’s vision for the nation and highlighted the BJP’s track record of prioritizing women’s welfare.
With the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and by-elections in Himachal Pradesh, Sharma’s allegations and the BJP’s promises underscore the political dynamics at play regarding women’s issues and empowerment in the region.
