MANDI/KULLU: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP’s star campaigner Yogi Adityanath praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, highlighting the transformation India has undergone over the past decade.
Addressing a large public rally in Kullu in favour of BJP candidate and Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut on Thursday (May 30, 2024), Adityanath emphasised the significant changes between pre-2014 India and the India of 2024. “Before 2014, India faced mistrust and an identity crisis, but now the world views us with respect. Wherever Prime Minister Modi goes, he is greeted warmly by the global community,” he said.
Adityanath also credited Modi’s leadership and his own efforts for the successful construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, overcoming numerous obstacles. “We can proudly tell future generations that we witnessed the construction of the Ram Temple. The true strength behind Modi and myself is the people. When you elect MPs and MLAs, they become our strength and through this strength, development follows,” he said, urging the crowd to support “Modi Sarkar” once again with a “400-plus” majority.
He lauded Modi for eradicating terrorism and corruption, contrasting the current scenario with the days when, under the UPA regime, the country was plagued by scams and terrorist activities. “Today, even if a firecracker bursts, Pakistan clarifies it has no involvement,” he remarked.
In a sharp critique of the Congress, Adityanath accused it of attempting to implement personal laws that resemble the Shariat law and warned against endangering the constitution drafted by Dr BR Ambedkar, likening such moves to a “Talibani administration”.
Adityanath asserted that parties in the INDIA bloc, including the Congress, were intimidated by the BJP’s goal of contesting 400 seats, a target achievable due to Modi’s leadership and the people’s support.
“The common sentiment is clear: the people want Modi’s government once again. Modi has transformed India’s image over the last decade, earning widespread support,” he said.
The Chief Minister also commended PM Modi for abolishing triple talaq, contrasting it with Congress’s alleged intention to revive the practice. “Modi’s guarantee means a developed, self-reliant India, promoting growth for all without discrimination,” he declared.
“This resolution signifies a decisive war against corruption based on Modi’s guarantees. This is the first general election where there is nationwide confidence in the results because people trust Modi’s guarantees,” he added. The rally saw the attendance of top BJP leaders, including Jai Ram Thakur, Rajeev Bindal, Kangana Ranaut, Maheshwar Singh and Govind Thakur.
All praise for Kangana Ranaut
Yogi Adityanath praised Kangana Ranaut, a local from Mandi, for her remarkable achievements in the male-dominated film industry. “Kangana is a brave girl who possesses the devotion of Mirabai, Rani Padmini and the valour of Rani Lakshmi Bai. She stood up to Maharashtra’s most powerful political party owned by the Thackerays and gave them a tough fight. If you send such a girl to Parliament, she will dominate every opposition there as well,” he stated.
