Weather expected to remain clear for next six days

SHIMLA: With rain and snow eluding most parts of Himachal Pradesh and sun shining bright due to clear skies, a surge in temperatures is being witnessed in various places in the state.
Both maximum and minimum temperatures have been hovering above the normal for this part of the year. The effects of the clear skies during the day are evident, with a significant uptick in maximum temperatures recorded across key areas. Over the past 24 hours as well, the majority of regions in the state reported maximum temperatures exceeding the normal range.
Shimla witnessed the maximum temperature of 15.4°C, which is 2 degrees above normal. In Sundernagar, the maximum temperature stood at 22.9°C (3.4 degrees above normal) while in Kalpa it was recorded at 13.3°C, which is 4.5 degrees above normal. The maximum temperature in Dharamshala was 21°C (3.2 degrees above normal) while it was 7.1°C in Keylong (4.1 degrees above normal), 21.8°C in Kangra (2.4 degrees above normal) and 17.9°C in Chamba (4.6 degrees below normal).
Even in the high-altitude areas, minimum temperatures have strayed from the norm. The minimum temperature in Shimla was 6.8°C (1 degrees below normal), Kalpa 0.6°C (2 degrees below normal), Dalhousie 1.6°C (2.1 degrees above normal) and Dharamshala 8.2°C (1 degrees above normal).
As of now, the Meteorological Department has forecast a continuation of clear weather in the state for the next six days, with no indication of rain in the near future. The prolonged absence of precipitation is likely to sustain the current temperature trends, keeping Himachal Pradesh warmer than usual for this time of year.
