Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a meeting with party legislators today, during which he addressed various issues and unveiled his vision for the future.
Kejriwal, who recently emerged from a 21-day jail term and is set to return on June 2, urged his party members to remain steadfast in the face of challenges.
He emphasized the pivotal role of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in shaping the nation’s destiny, asserting that other parties have been tested and found wanting by the people.
During the meeting, Kejriwal introduced ‘Kejriwal’s Guarantee’, comprising 10 promises aimed at ensuring the welfare of all citizens, including free healthcare for everyone.
He expressed confidence in fulfilling these guarantees with the support of coalition partners if the India Group forms the government. Kejriwal contrasted his commitment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assurances, highlighting his track record of delivering on promises in Delhi and Punjab.
Among the guarantees, Kejriwal pledged to provide 24-hour electricity across the country, ensure free electricity up to 200 units for the poor, revamp government schools to provide quality education, and establish quality healthcare facilities accessible to all. He vowed to reclaim land occupied by China and grant autonomy to the military to tackle the issue strategically.
Furthermore, Kejriwal announced the discontinuation of the Agniveer scheme, promising proper regularization for those recruited under the program.
He stressed that no compromises would be made regarding national security. Additionally, he assured fair prices for farmers’ produce and vowed to address unemployment by creating two crore jobs annually.
Kejriwal criticized the BJP’s approach to governance, promising to dismantle corruption and simplify the GST regime to aid businesses. He reaffirmed his goal of surpassing China in trade and industry. Responding to queries, Kejriwal expressed confidence in people’s trust in ‘Kejriwal’s Guarantee’, anticipating victory in all seven Delhi seats for the India Group.
