Mandi: In a scene reminiscent of divine reverence, “Bada Dev” Kamrunag graced the quaint setting of Himachal’s Chhoti Kashi Mandi, setting off a wave of spiritual fervour.
As the revered deity’s presence permeated the atmosphere, the district administration and the members of the Sarv Deva Committee orchestrated a grand welcome to the most revered deity of Mandi, at Pulgharat, marking the auspicious occasion with traditional pomp and ceremony on March 7.
Amidst the ancient rituals, Raj Madhav Rai, the custodian of tradition, duly noted Bada Dev Kamrunag’s attendance before the deity embarked on his journey toward Tarna. Over seven days, Bada Dev Kamrunag will find his abode at the revered Mata Temple during the sacred Tarna pilgrimage.
The arrival of Bada Dev Kamrunag not only heralds the onset of Shivaratri but also beckons the participation of myriad other deities from the district, each adding to the tapestry of devotion and celebration.
Speaking on the occasion, Shivpal Sharma, chairman of the Sarv Devta Committee, emphasized the significance of Bada Dev Kamrunag’s prolonged presence at the Tarna Mata Temple, where devotees seek his divine blessings. This year’s Shivaratri festivities, from March 9 to March 15, promise a confluence of spiritual energies, with even neighboring districts contributing to the celestial spectacle.
Indeed, as Bada Dev Kamrunag graces the Chhoti Kashi Mandi with his divine aura, the heavens themselves seem to acknowledge his arrival, blessing the land with a gentle shower before clearing the skies once more.
The unfolding saga of devotion and tradition in the Mandi district epitomizes the timeless allure of Shivaratri, uniting communities in reverence and celebration under the benevolent gaze of the divine.
