Two soldiers from Himachal Pradesh were martyred in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir.
Jawan Pramod Negi of Shillai village of Sirmaur district has been martyred. A wave of mourning has spread in the Giripar area including Shillai.
Naik Arvind Kumar of panchayat Maru of Dheera sub-division in Kangra district was also martyred. Arvind was posted in Kupwara in Nine Para Commando. Arvind had returned to duty two months ago after cutting short his leave. Mother and wife fainted on hearing the news of his martyrdom. A wave of mourning has run across the region. Arvind has left behind his parents, wife and two daughters.
