Dharamshala: Hours after Chief Minister Sukhu wrapped up his political tour in this constituency, his rival, BJP’s MLA candidate Sudhir Sharma, launched a sharp attack with serious corruption allegations.
“One of the Chief Minister’s colleagues bought land for just 2.5 lakhs and sold it to the Himachal Road Transport Corporation for nearly 6 crores. Furthermore, while Sukhu banned all mining units in the state, his brother’s crusher was the only one operating,” Sharma stated in a public announcement.
The gravity of these allegations was underscored by Sharma holding documents in the video he released. “You said you have a hoarse throat, but under your rule, the entire state has come to a standstill,” he added.
The Congress party has remained silent, with no one stepping up to defend Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu against Sharma’s accusations. By late evening, no Congress leader or worker had reacted to the video.
Despite Sukhu deploying all party wings in this constituency, the delayed announcement of the Congress candidate is hurting their election efforts. Devendar Jaggi, a former mayor, has been tasked with defeating Sukhu’s political rival Sudhir, but Sudhir is leading in the campaign, thanks to the BJP’s strategies and digital media strength.
