DHARAMSHALA: Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur highlighted on Wednesday that the commencement of construction on the Dharamshala campus of the Central University in Himachal Pradesh had been delayed due to the state government’s failure to deposit its share of the required funds.
While one of the two campuses planned for Dehra in Kangra has already received permission and construction has commenced, the other campus in Dharamshala is stuck in limbo as the state government “has not yet contributed its designated funds”. Thakur emphasised the urgency for the state government to deposit the required funds promptly to kickstart the stalled project.

The Union Minister arrived at Kangra airport on Wednesday for a one-day visit, during which he addressed the delay in the Dharamshala campus project. He stressed the importance of expediting the process to ensure the timely completion of the Central University’s expansion in the region.

In addition to discussing the infrastructure developments, Anurag took a swipe at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), labelling it as the “most dishonest party in the country”. During a formal conversation with journalists, he expressed his dismay, stating that individuals who once advocated for honesty before entering politics were now associated with the AAP, a party with several ministers in jail, including its former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. He also questioned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s repeated refusal to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the alleged Money laundering case.
About the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Anurag confidently asserted that the people of the country would elect the Modi government for the third time. He claimed that the expectations of both India and the world were pinned on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing his belief that the people of India would once again support the Modi government in the Lok Sabha elections.
