Alliance Air has indefinitely suspended its domestic flights connecting various districts of Himachal Pradesh due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions. Initially, the airline had announced a temporary suspension of services until July 15, but no new schedule has been released yet.
The affected air services include the Shimla-Dharamshala and Shimla-Kullu routes, which were started by Alliance Air to enhance connectivity within the state. The fare for these flights ranged from Rs 3,500 to Rs 4,000 per passenger.
The airline had hoped to resume operations on July 16, but persistent bad weather has forced the continued suspension of services. No updated information or schedules have been provided to the relevant airport authorities.
An official at the Gaggal airport in Kangra confirmed that Alliance Air had informed them about the cancellation of flights until July 15 due to weather issues, and no further updates had been received.
Despite the suspension of these regional routes, Alliance Air continues to operate flights connecting Himachal Pradesh to other states. Flights from Gaggal airport to Dharamshala, Shimla airport to New Delhi and Amritsar, and Kullu airport to Delhi, Dehradun and Amritsar are still running as scheduled.
The flight schedules for these routes are available on the airline’s website.
As the state grapples with continuous bad weather, the indefinite suspension of these crucial regional flights has disrupted travel plans for many residents and visitors. Passengers are advised to stay informed through the airline’s official channels for any updates on the resumption of services.
