SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh government has removed Director General of Police (DGP) Sanjay Kundu from his post and appointed the IPS officer Kundu as the Principal Secretary in the AYUSH Department.
With this appointment, Amandeep Garg will be relieved from the charge of AYUSH Department. During the hearing on alleged harassment complaint of Palampur businessman Nishant Sharma on December 26, the Himachal Pradesh High Court had ordered the removal of Sanjay Kundu from the post of DGP. The Personnel Department issued the transfer orders on Tuesday (January 2). The High Court had sought compliance report by January 4 even as Kundu had moved the Supreme Court against th High Court order.
