Himachal PWD minister Vikramaditya Singh reiterated his resolve to visit Ayodhya following the invitation for the consecration.
He said that Shri Ram is the cornerstone of our belief and politics has nothing to do with our religious beliefs.
He said that he had talks with the Chief Minister regarding the invitation from Ayodhya but it depends on the situation as to when would he visit Ayodhya.
Regarding the preparations by his department to tackle the situation arising out of expected snowfall and obstruction of vehicular traffic, he said that this time very few private machines would be used for removing snow from roads. Government machines have been relocated from the plains to the upper reaches of the state.
Singh said that two snow blowers are being pressed into action this time and steps have been taken to purchase these machines as early as possible.
He announced that personnel for PWD guest houses and circuit houses would be outsourced to ensure that residents of the area get employment. PWD has 1600 rooms all over the state and the department plans to keep them ready to promote tourism.
The tenders for the 254 roads worth Rs 2700 crore sanctioned under PMGSY by the Union government would be invited by March end.
While hoping for adequate help from the Union government he said that the promises made by Union minister Nitin Gadkari during his visit to Himachal have not been fulfilled and neither has the Union government lent full support to take care of the damage caused during monsoon.
