Winners to be hired by India’s top modelling companies; 132 took part in semifinals at Seri Manch
MANDI: The stage is set for Mr and Miss Northern finale that will be held later this month in Himachal Pradesh.
The semifinal round took place at the historic Seri Manch in Mandi, where 132 contestants competed after being shortlisted from an initial pool of over 500 participants from across northern India.
Sixty contestants have now advanced to the grand finale, where they will showcase their skills and creativity in front of an elite panel of judges and audience.
The event was organised by the Feet of Fame Academy and witnessed an impressive turnout, both in terms of audience and participation.
High-profile judges and star-studded performances
The judging panel for the semifinal event featured some of the region’s most respected names in the fashion and entertainment industry.
The female judging panel was led by Anushka Dutta, who previously ranked in the Top 20 at Miss Universe India, while the male judging panel included acclaimed model Ben M.
Both brought their expertise to the event, adding an air of credibility and excitement to the proceedings.
The semifinal also included performances by prominent Himachali artistes, including Pahari singer AC Bhardwaj, Ajay Chauhan and Kumar Sahil. Renowned social media influencers from the region also made special appearances, contributing to the evening’s celebratory mood.
Grand finale to feature former Miss Universe India
Organisers have confirmed that Shweta Sharda, former Miss Universe India, will be a special guest at the finale.
Winners from this event will earn the chance to work with India’s top five modeling companies, a significant opportunity in the competitive world of modeling.
Speaking about the significance of this, Amit Bhatia, organiser of Mr and Miss Northern, emphasised that the event aims to open new pathways for young talents in modeling and related fields.
Contestants reflect on their journey, experiences
For many contestants, this semifinal marked a major milestone.
Snehal Rawat from Jubbal and Shagun Negi from Kullu shared their excitement over participating in the competition, with both describing it as their first experience on such a grand stage.
They highlighted the value of the modeling insights and skills they gained through this event.
“This event gave us a platform to learn and experience so much in modeling,” said Shagun, visibly inspired by her time at the semifinals.
Honoring excellence in community
In addition to the competitive events, the semifinal provided a platform to honour notable personalities from Himachal Pradesh.
Organisers, including Raja Singh Malhotra, Raku Walia, Jagdish Kumar and Hem Raj Sharma, presented awards to individuals who have made significant contributions to various fields in the state.
