Six vehicles parked on the roadside at Chamalhadi Nala in Gandhinagar, near the district headquarters of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh, were damaged after catching fire on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday around 3.30 am.
The cause of the fire has not yet been known and the police are investigating the matter. The loud sound of the fire breaking out alerted nearby residents, who quickly noticed the vehicles engulfed in flames.
The Kullu fire authorities were informed at 2.55 am, prompting a swift response from the fire department. Firefighters arrived on the scene with a vehicle and worked diligently to extinguish the blaze. The firefighting efforts continued until 4.30 am, successfully containing the fire and preventing further damage to other vehicles.
Six vehicles were affected by the fire. Four vehicles were completely damaged while two others suffered significant damage to their front and back portions. The owners of the burnt vehicles, including Rajendra Kumar, Khush Bhardwaj, Karma Singh, Oma Devi and Dev Raj, have suffered substantial financial losses, amounting to lakhs of rupees.
Among the destroyed vehicles was one with the registration number HP66A-1111, which was completely burnt. The engines, tyres and back sections of two other cars were also severely damaged. The police arrived on the scene and have prepared a detailed report on the incident. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
