CHAMBA: Four nominated councillors of Dalhousie Municipal Council were administered the oath of office and secrecy at a simple ceremony held in the Bachat Bhawan complex here on Thursday.
Dalhousie SDM Anil Bhardwaj administered the oath to nominated councillors Bishan Lal, Hemraj, Ritu Singh and Vijay Kumar. Senior Congress leader and former minister Asha Kumari made a special presence at the ceremony.
After taking oath, the local people present gave a warm welcome to the nominated councillors by showering them with flowers and garlands. After the ceremony, the four councillors expressed gratitude to the top leadership of the Congress, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Ashish Butail and Asha Kumari.
The newly nominated councillors said that they would always strive to strengthen the cleanliness system, work towards improving the condition of roads and other basic facilities in Dalhousie and will discharge the responsibility being assigned to them with dedication to take the Dalhousie Municipal Council forward on the path of development. It is noteworthy that there are nine wards in Dalhousie Municipal Council in which seven BJP-supported and two Congress-supported councillors had won the elections.
Recently, the government had issued a notification and nominated the four councillors in the Municipal Council.
