3 more cases of fraud registered against BJP’s Himachal bypoll candidate Davinder Bhutto, son

After Dehra in Kangra, three cases of fraud have now been lodged against Congress turncoat and BJP candidate for Kutlehar Assembly bypoll Davinder Kumar Bhutto and his son Karan in Una’s Bangana.
According to information, the cases were filed based on complaints from a Public Works Department official. While two cases have been filed against Davinder Bhutto, one has been lodged against his son Karan, who is a construction contractor.
Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department’s Bangana section, Suresh Dhiman, revealed that the allegations stemmed from contracts awarded in Bhutto’s village Charada under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. It is alleged that Bhutto deposited a fixed deposit (FD) of Rs 5,11,000 as a bank guarantee, valid until October 4, 2022, but subsequently obtained the amount fraudulently through forged signatures. Another case has been registered against Karan regarding similar fraudulent activities.
Suresh Dhiman, the complainant, further detailed that Bhutto was allocated the task of constructing five roads, for which he deposited three fixed deposits amounting to Rs 5,50,000 as bank guarantees. However, it was later discovered that Bhutto had unlawfully withdrawn the amount, as revealed by the Central Bank of India. In the third case, Executive Engineer of PWD’s Una section Baldev Singh alleged that Bhutto had engaged in fraudulent practices by submitting counterfeit documents for the department’s allotted work.
Una Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh confirmed that two cases had been filed against Bhutto and one against his son. He said investigations into these allegations were currently underway, signalling potential legal repercussions for the accused. The development has added fuel to the already heated up political atmosphere surrounding the Kutlehar Assembly by-election as Bhutto has been alleging witch-hunting by the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government.
