3 killed as car plunges into gorge near Shaili Dhank in Shimla’s Chopal

Shimla: Three persons were killed after the car they were travelling in fell into a gorge near Shaili Dhank under Chopal subdivision of Shimla district.
According to information, the Alto car (HP10C-0476) plunged approximately metres into the gorge after the driver lost control over it late Monday evening.
Rescue teams reached the spot but found that all three occupants of the car had died on the spot due to the severe impact.
The victims have been identified as: Parikshit Bharti (28), son of Parjeet, a resident of Kadrot village, Jhalta post, Jubbal tehsil; Vinod Kumar (32), son of Chatteru, from Jhalta village, Jubbal tehsil, and Mukesh (32), son of Bhag Chand, from Dochi village, Jubbal tehsil.
The police have registered a reportand started inquest proceedings. The steep terrain and dangerous road conditions in the area are being cited as possible contributing factors.
