Chief Guest RS Bali lauds young scholars for their academic excellence
Nearly 250 meritorious Class 10 and Class 12 students were honoured at the prestigious TNR Shining Star Awards in Hamirpur on Tuesday (July 2, 2024), in a ceremony organised to encourage academic excellence and celebrate the achievements of the young scholars who have secured 85 per cent or higher marks in their board examination.
Long queues of students were witnessed at the auditorium of the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur, since early morning even as the registration for the awards began at 9 am.
Nagrota MLA RS Bali, the Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and the Vice-Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Board, was the Chief Guest.
Bali advised the students to avoid succumbing to peer pressure and to stay focused on their path to success. The Congress leader asked the students to use mobile phone judiciously as it could turn out to be a cause of distraction for them.
Former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Caku Chaudhary, dance academy Destiny Dance Studio’s (Hamirpur) managing director Manish KR Chopra and Amit Sood, general manager of a hotel chain, graced the occasion as special guests. All the guests were felicitated by TNR Executive Editor Sunil Chadha.
The Newz Radar, the trusted and only English digital news network based in Himachal Pradesh, has already organised the Shining Star Awards in Kangra, Chamba, Kullu, Mandi, Bilaspur and Una. After Hamirpur, Team TNR will be heading to Nahan (Sirmaur district) and Solan where similar events are lined up on July 4 and July 6, respectively.
The TNR Shining Star Awards were instituted in 2023 to celebrate the extraordinary academic achievements of super brains, among them several from ordinary backgrounds.
The aim behind organising the Shining Star Awards is to connect with bright young minds and foster a constructive society, says Sunil Chadha. He avers that it’s a must to honour students, their parents and teachers who have worked hard for years to achieve such academic milestones.
At the awards function in Una on June 26 (2024), Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri had lauded Team Newz Radar for its innovative social initiative Shining Star Awards.
Mukesh Agnihotri had praised TNR Political Editor Gopal S Puri and Executive Editor Sunil Chadha, emphasising their remarkable accomplishments in journalism at a young age and their efforts to drive social change through the Shining Star Awards.
