SHIMLA: Two youths were killed in a car accident on the Dhalli-Bhattakufer bypass road in Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla on Saturday (December 30, 2023) morning.
According to information, the driver lost control over the car and it rolled down the hill near Prabhakar Automobile repair station. The vehicle got stuck in bushes downhill and both the youths, Hrithik (22) and Priyanshu (23), were killed on the spot, said an official.
People nearby informed the police about the accident following which teams of the police and State Disaster Response Force reached the spot and conducted the rescue operation. As the vehicle lay upside down, the rescue personnel faced difficulty in taking out the body of one of the deceased. The police subsequently took the help of a crane to remove the car.
Both Hrithik and Priyanshu are said to be residents of Chambi in Chopal tehsil of Shimla district. The police have sent the bodies to IGMC for post-mortem and initiated inquest proceedings.
